Creative Beginnings Can’t Stop

In order to promote a more fun, student-centered learning environment our middle school faculty and staff gave up some control, let loose, had fun, and danced their way into the hearts of the students and parents on Back to School Night. What more powerful way is there to reach all families than a great song, with a good beat, and a fun video to establish our efforts to create relationships with our learners.

It takes a lot for teachers to drop their classroom demeanors and just be themselves, especially when it comes to their students. Establishing yourself as an authority figure, the head of the learning environment, and an adult among the sea of strange that is middle school life is challenging enough.  Taking a step back, cutting loose, and hoping your students will enjoy your efforts and not run wild with the silliness takes a great deal of trust.

I am so proud and honored to work with amazing teachers who embrace the silly, will do anything for their students, and believe in the power of being a part of a learning environment that offers students opportunities to laugh as they learn.

Take a peek at our newly released BTSN video:

I’d like to thank @jtimberlake for releasing an awesome upbeat song and a fun video that made it easy for our faculty and staff to cut loose, have fun, and welcome our Bulldogs back to school on a positive note. Our characters aren’t quite as kooky and catchy as the ones in his video, but I have to say that our teachers have got some smooth moves for sure!

Can’t stop… our Bulldog spirit! Welcome back for the 2016-2017 school year. Let’s make it one of the best ever.
